WOULD YOU LIKE TO BECOME A SAR TEAM MEMBER IN THE LARGEST COUNTY IN WASHINGTON STATE?
How can you help? We always need dedicated volunteers, willing to respond to a SAR mission in the oddest places, under unusual circumstances, in the worst weather. It’s rarely glorious or amazing, and often frustratingly tedious. Now and then you do get the reward of finding a lost party, helping a panicked parent, and even rescuing someone from a near death experience. Giving hope where there was none, or bringing closure to a family’s loss.

Training, work and more training.
Some folks come to us with a good attitude and aptitude, then we teach them the various skills needed. Others come with lots of skills and have to learn the specifics of search and rescue within our county. We all have to be open and ready to learn new ideas, technology and technique. We provide training to bring new team members up to state qualifications. Completing first-aid/CPR, online training courses and several days of field training is required (and provided free of charge) in order to become an Okanogan County SAR member.
We will contact you immediately to start the interview process. We’re looking forward to speaking with you.
Sincerely,
Okanogan County Search and Rescue
