WOULD YOU LIKE TO BECOME A SAR TEAM MEMBER?
How can you help? We always need dedicated volunteers, willing to come out and help at any moment, in the oddest places, under unusual circumstances, in the worst weather. It’s rarely glorious or amazing, and often frustratingly tedious. Now and then you do get the reward of finding a lost party, helping a panicked parent, and even rescuing someone from a near death experience. Giving hope where there was none, or bringing closure to a families loss.
Training, work and training.
Some folks come to us with good attitude and aptitude, then we teach them the skills. Others come with lots of skills and have to learn the specifics of SAR work. We all have to be ready to learn new ideas, technology and technique. We provide training to bring new team members up to state qualifications. Firstaid/cpr, online courses and several days of field training get new members ready to respond.
